Iran is ready to restart atomic discussions with the United States as long as it is handled with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has declared.

The Iranian diplomat said exclusively dialogue was effective, and disclosed recent overtures had originated from intermediaries to resume talks with the American leadership. He asserted Iran had zero unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to permit the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit struck enrichment centers for safety concerns.

Navigating a Complex Course

The foreign minister is navigating a difficult route since Iran aims to avoid be seen to be proceeding from a stance of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had arisen more resilient in military terms and psychologically from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was talking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an inalienable right to refine atomic fuel within its borders that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the impasse in the earlier negotiations.

Magic Solution Offered

Iranian officials stated they felt they had reached a "magic solution" to the nuclear fuel concern in prior discussions, when it was decided an domestic cooperative with American involvement could refine atomic fuel. Each party would have been able to declare success since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been agreed in the talks that US nuclear scientists could work inside Iran, but that was a reasonable assumption of the partnership suggestion.
