Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events passed over the region, bringing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Widespread Destruction

Residents reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.

Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both regions.
